Evie Broad joins the RAMSAK agrena Team for August 2018
To cope with the increasing demand from members for fuel supply services, RAMSAK have just taken on new recruit, Evie Broad, who will be managing the fuel desk to ensure that RAMSAK Group members get the best price possible and the best service with fuel delivered at the right time.
After studying politics and international relations at Keele University, Evie took the opportunity to travel and see the world by taking a job with British Airways’ cabin crew. After a year she decided to return to a more normal routine and a desire to help people led her to teaching. Evie went on to do her post-graduate education before completing two years of teaching at primary school level. After a maternity cover job came to an end, Evie decided it was time to look at other sectors and discovered that the RAMSAK Group was hiring.
“When I found out about the job at RAMSAK it was ideal because it combines my love of being organised and working with people, plus it is in an industry which I have been a part of over the years,” said Evie. “I am looking forward to being able to help farmers with their fuel costs as well as helping to organise the various events and Farmers’ Ball which the group puts on each year.”
While Evie has never lived on a working farm, her dad grew up on a dairy farm in Wiltshire and while he then pursued a career as a pilot, the family always lived in a rural location. After Evie’s mum started to date a farm contractor, Evie found herself spending the summers on the tractor and began to further immerse herself in the industry. “After I came back from university I decided to join Hailsham young farmers,” said Evie. “I was quite an active member and enjoyed getting involved with the organising. I met my fiancé at a ploughing match and we have been to the Farmers’ Ball every year since it started.”
At the weekends Evie enjoys taking her cocker spaniel puppy for walks in the countryside and spending time on her fiancé’s family farm in Rolvenden, Kent.
